ISI not involved in Mumbai attacks: Musharraf
Daily Times Monitor
LAHORE: Former president Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf has said the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is not involved in the Mumbai terror attacks, a private TV channel reported on Friday.
According to the channel, Musharraf said Pakistan and India owed their 'survival' to the their armed forces, adding that weakening the army or the ISI was tantamount to weakening the country as “ISI is doing the same job in Pakistan as the CIA and RAW are doing in the US and India [respectively]”.
To a question, the former president said Kalabagh dam could not be constructed due to the cowardice of the politicians. “They (politicians) are fully aware of the importance of the dam but do not talk openly,” he said.
He claimed Pakistan had documentary evidence of India's involvement in the unrest in Balochistan. He said the US would be defeated in the war on terror if it stopped the aid to Pakistan.
He said during his government a 15-year plan had been prepared to meet the country’s defence needs.
